There’s something about a pulled together patio space that no amount of bug bites would deter you from enjoying (with a cocktail in hand). Personally, patio spaces remind me of growing up in Toronto. We squeezed every moment we could out of the warm summer weather.
Given the year we’ve all had, instead of traveling, we committed to investing in our backyard… to create the oasis we’ve always dreamed of. So immediately, my brain went to the infamous Target Egg Chair – because I’m completely obsessed with these magical little pods of goodness.
I love how this Target Egg Chair looks with this Nicole Miller by Target outdoor rug. It feels like the perfect “zen den” vibe for the deck beside our pool where there’s little mercy from the blazing Austin sun. The black elements create a modern vibe, but the warm wood accents and faux plants (or even real ones!) soften it up with more natural elements.
The Target egg chair is a patio staple this season
If you’re a regular on Instagram, then there’s little doubt that you’ve encountered an egg chair. It’s the token boho piece that every influencer seems to have in their backyard these days. I know, I know – it’s a little overdone, but damn, she’s cute.
The hanging egg chair is also a super cute look, but I question the ability for a tiny little hook to hold my bodyweight. Personally, I like things that are firmly planted on the ground like this sweet oval shaped wicker chair. It’s also the perfect size for smaller spaces (without being too small to be comfortable for an adult).
Target Nicole Miller Rugs are Possibly the Internet’s Best Kept Secret
Let’s talk about this rug for a minute. When we bought our current house, I remember seeing a similar rug on the patio just outside of what is now my office. It was the same style as this one – traditional/vintage and at the time, I thought it was an interesting style choice for an outdoor patio rug. I always think of outdoor rugs being stripped or jute texture.
But not this rug – it’s soft, vintage feel makes it seem like it belongs in a living room, but instead, it brings the living room feel outdoors. I also love the price.
Does Target Win on Pricing for Outdoor Furniture?
Speaking of price – while I don’t think Target’s the cheapest shop on the block when it comes to outdoor furniture, they’ve done a great job of curating designer brands like Studio Magee or Hearth & Hand with Magnolia. Their attention to detail and functional style makes these pieces every bit worth the extra investment.
Walmart has a surprisingly good selection of patio sets and people simply rave about this particular outdoor sofa set that seems to go out of stock all the time. I also saw this ridiculously cute navy stripped outdoor rug from Walmart in the latest edition of Home and Garden and I thought it was a steal for the price.
At any rate, I hope you enjoy your warm summer nights, lounging about on the perfect patio set for your space, surrounded by good friends and great cocktails.
